Edvard Stein This double album is simply awesome! A sunny mood shines through on all the songs and makes the listener happier and warmer inside... i really like the contrast between CD 1 and 2, with the second part being more downbeat/calm. Favorite track: Prosopopeye.

Fall Awesome 04:41
You are Eyes pie Knives out I chase you Together, we got to feel it right Together, you got to feel it rough Together, we got to feel alive always We are Champagne Closer Chrome with me Together, we got to feel it right Together, you got to feel it rough Together, we got to feel alive always Down the wire you take a rest from all your strolls Down the wire you take a seat and stretch your toes And I need someone to save me from this reverse universe And I want someone to hunt me down and fall fall with me You swing the rope from side to side

Maybe Baby 04:14
Forbear from taking advantage Yawnatown Royal Crown Pun I can’t find a way to get close to you What makes you think that maybe baby you’re the one? I’m not arousing suspicion Yawnatown Royal Crown Pun Can’t you turn a blind eye to what I do What makes you think that maybe baby you’re in sight? Stuck between the devil and the sea down in Sicily Waving at the waves breaking the reef Scylla and Charybdis the Royal Crab Crown Aaah… Beware of speeches and drifters Yawnatown Royal Crown Pun ask the storyteller to change the rules What makes you think that maybe baby you’re allowed? Stuck between the devil and the sea down in Sicily Waving at the waves till they recede Scylla and Charybdis the Royal Crab Crown the Royal Crab Crown Aaah… So dry well all their bones Sail beyond your Pillars of Hercules Move along Socratic doubt will you leave me Yawnatown Little Drowned Muse I can’t tell how everything fell in ruins I can’t overcome a force-nine gale hear the Sirens scream Swear against Poseidon and his reign crazy spicy nymphs Long for my return and call you names fight the anchovies I thought love was more or less a given fee you’re so duty free When I get home I’ve got the feeling that they’re seizing my ankles and I sink When I get home I’ll find me wheezing while they’re snooping around in everything So dry well all their bones Sail beyond your Pillars of Hercules Move along

You go round, I fall apart I come near, you reach a star there you find somebody new, how can you be so cruel? Break a leg, dress up in hell, disappear under a spell, make a wish over the years, let it come through your tears In every smile, in every laugh I feel happy I’m alive but all this noise inside won’t make me feel like I’m home Little girl, when I go blind, can’t you see I’m left behind? Little girl give me a sign, please just be mine tonight Days are gone and we’re still here chasing clouds covered in fear In this grace turn off the light this is our flight tonight In every smile, in every laugh I feel happy I survived I long for warmer arms, won’t you please come take me home? Take me home you won’t take me home… again today in time Life in fairy tales like old summer rains falls down warm

Prosopopeye 05:15
You got to set me free You got to let me be the new one You are a living thing You got to take me to the blue one All the way, to the sun I can’t get you out I’m on a lonely road And I’m driving fast to see you Don’t let me wait too long I wanna lose myself into you All the way, to the sun I can’t get you out I won’t keep a distance I shall gain position We could work it out right now I won’t fight for Christmas I shall win and glisten We can work it out right now But then you’re selling beans And I ain’t got no heart to seed one So far this Jesus bleeds The Queen is coming down to see you So please don’t break my hype Before your very eyes, believe me You got to set me free You got to let me be the new one All the way, to the sun I can’t get you out I won’t keep a distance I shall gain position We could work it out right now I won’t fight for Christmas I shall win and glisten We can work it out right now

Ten light years far away My planet shone out bright the closer I got there the less it showed its light No time supremacy Fade into eternity No space control Everything flows Unaligned My mind is bone tired I drove it round the bend They promised I’d arrive but I haven’t stopped since 1969 No time supremacy Faith into eternity No space control Everything flows Unaligned Horizon misbelief Utopia waking dream Home planet gone… everything flows…

Emy's Fears 04:10
Where are you going with clouds in your mind Sinking in memories deep down the town Cloverleaves rarely tell fortune in March Daisies are waiting for April to thrive Where are you crawling with rain in your eyes I can see clearly the sorrow of a sinner stepped in your puddle, boots covered in mud hinder your legs as they’re yearning to run But I love the way you blow my mind with your floalicious blooming I can’t wait another day to see the fears you carry melt in the sun Leave your worries behind I can’t waste the chance to see you rising from the mists and shine through the dark Spread your wings and come out of your shell Where are you going while grinding your teeth spreading your anger all over the city calling on thunders to tear it apart waiting for something you won’t figure out Still I love the way you blow my mind with your floalicious blooming Now you’ve got time to find a proper refuge wherever you are Whenever your heart needs cuddles and cures You’re gonna make it through Just keep the enchantment It takes time to hide the sound of the blues and learn not to cry but you’ve got me caught right up in your mood singing this song so true they’re getting after you I can listen to their tunes I can’t wait another day to see the fears you carry melt in the sun Leave your worries behind I can’t waste the chance to see you rising from the mists and shine through the dark Spread your wings and fly high Break your shell and come out What a day! Come and play!

Shine a light Take your time Gonna find My peace of mind Shine a light Take your time Gonna find My peace of mind Yellow duckies, daisies, pancakes too Ponies and rainbows, milkshaked blues Yellow duckies, daisies, pancakes too Kitties on synths in the space blue Ooh… turn me on Shine a light Overnight Gonna try to make you mine Shine a light Overnight Gonna try to make you mine Yellow duckies, daisies, pancakes too Ponies and rainbows, milkshaked blues Yellow duckies, daisies, pancakes too Kitties on synths in the space blue Oooh… turn me on And when you think of her she dances in the starry sky don’t care for nothing but yourself And when you dream of her she slides under your covers, don’t be scared of nothing, free your soul Choke her between your sheets and scream in reverse She’s everything but everything must come to the end Yellow duckies, daisies, pancakes too Ponies and rainbows, milkshaked blues Yellow duckies, daisies, pancakes too Kitties on synths in the space blue Oooh… turn me on Upside down she’s floating far from solid ground Got to take off faster than the speed of sound I can see the space is slowly fading in I must find my way to rise and never die Never die I’m high I win the gravity of the floor and down she falls…

Where have you gone? Where have you gone? Little Miss Queen of Light take my hand Running in circles we’ll fall off the world Cover the distance from cosmos to my darkness, crown shyness lets in your faint afterglow through the night when I’m shaken by fears Where are you now? Where are you now? Little Miss Queen of Light fix my heart Bring me the sunshine I need to grow strong Feed me, your warm smile will heal all my sore branches, sick leaves Relief of my soul cankers Crown shyness mirrors the drought in these days of war Wipe my tears away Try to soothe the pain I never meant to rot I never put down roots I never meant to rot I never found my roots Shake my twigs Shake my twigs Shake my wings Shake my wings

Maybe I’m a lioness
 Modern tales of razor legs
Oh I, I am not so sure Holy elephants and fries
You can see the great shake’s smile
Oh I, I am not so sure And how could I break my heart in two?
 Je suis fool
Wait, I am mistaking myself heavily
Once again Once again How could I break my heart in two?
Je suis fool
Wait, I am mistaking myself heavily
 Once again Once again

Mate in 4/4 04:04
Coming up to Baltimore knocked around behind your door there’s no need to hang about everything I got expired Follow up and follow through every gaze has something blue no way out this friday night no way back to daily grind Pawn or knight in your game when all is said and done I cry, feel ashamed and I will keep it real a gash to the sun when all is said and done I try take the throne but I don’t want to fear everyday moving up to gain a square on the rook The King was helpless the Queen is gone castling went wrong I sacrificed it Friday night when lights are low I don’t want to be alone there’s no need to hang around everything I got came down And if you want to win me that’s ok But if you want to leave me that’s not fair I guess you want to win me that’s ok aaah… your mate was enough Pawn or knight in your game when all is said and done I cry, feel ashamed and I will keep it real a gash to the sun when all is said and done I try take the throne but I don’t want to fear everyday moving up to gain a square on the rook Emily walks upon the snow Emily never felt so strong and she likes to sing along Emily played her life alone Emily struggles with her thoughts I’m afraid I would get lost Emily walks upon the snow Emily never felt so strong and she loves to sing along Emily played her life alone Emily struggles with her thoughts I’m afraid I would get lost

Stoner Kebab 03:31
Waking with the sound of coming troubles I couldn’t say what happened yesterday No matter how I tried to say “I’m sorry” I didn’t know I never had to fail What’s the matter? She’s a drama In the end they say that true love finds you But all I know is you’re screaming in my mind How completely wrong we ran our feelings? Now Japanese No Limits makes me sick And if you’re still my loved one I won’t be afraid to burn Find me an easy way to the sun But if you’re really gone now I won’t be afraid to die Find me an easy way to get out
15.
What makes you think that maybe baby you’re divine? Every day you let me go Every day I find you’re gone Every day I’m lagging so far behind Anyway you get me caught up You know you know you know when everything is wrong You know you know you know everything is wrong Every day I get you lost Every day you find me gone Every now and then we run out of time Anyway you get me close You know you know you know ‘cause everything is wrong You know you know you know when everything is wrong We know we know we know every single word You know you know you know everything is gone You came a long way down to rise to the stars For every shameful tear I want you to know that we’ll take the world by storm by storm You know you know you know ‘cause everything is wrong You know you know you know when everything is wrong We know we know we know every single word You know you know you know everything is gone You came a long way down to rise to the stars For every shameful tear I want you to know that we’ll change the world Weather the storm Let it go Let it go to come see the dawn

Trapeze 04:39
You need time and I need presence life is short these days too long Once we climbed the highest wall don’t you dare walk a tightrope Can we face down the world? We’re so close to the bone Find the place we belong Every fear will be blown swing back There’s no strength to be earned There’s no net for our falls the eldest paved the way There’s no trick you can learn the path goes steeply high You must trust my arms Let the clowns play the role We’re not meant to go wrong Hold the pain of your soul Standing out from the crowd Like a singer to God whose wings are melting down looks for answers in songs a harder sharper sun mould your blues into throws a second rater’s chance flying as never before Catch my last somersault the audience shouting loud Grab my hands from above my balance getting lost It’s the end of the show show We’re so close to the ground Oooh… Second sons’ desires have burst lay burnt as moths to a flame

about

About the title:
SUMMER is spelled ESTATE in italian, while INVERNO means WINTER. So, this international wordplay actually reflects the double soul of STERBUS songwriting.

"REAL ESTATE - CD one - is a joyous rampage through a circus of questionable sanity....a definite rollercoaster ride up towards the Sun.
FAKE INVERNO - CD two - is definitely more autumn..... beautiful golden leaves, cold evenings, reflective, and you wrap the songs around you to keep you warm." (David Sheridon - the Army of Moths)

All songs written, arranged and produced by Emanuele Sterbini and Giovanna Dominique Damiana D’Avanzo.

Recorded, engineered, mixed and mastered by Francesco Grammatico @ DB Recording Studios in Bagni di Tivoli (Rome, Italy) between October 2017 and July 2018.

All electric guitars and basses have been recorded using a special custom “DBRS Waveshaper 2.1” created and developed by Francesco Grammatico.

Elisa Raho’s celtic harp on Maybe Baby and “Real Estate / Fake Winter” Reel recorded by Valter Sacripanti in his studio in Amelia (Terni, Italy) on 3rd June 2018.

about

Sterbus Rome, Italy

Sterbus are from Rome, but their true musical spirit wanders much further afield, from the joyful power-pop of The New Pornographers to the rainy Portland of Elliott Smith and certainly all the South of England's ground-soils Cardiacs, Xtc and King Crimson.

After the release of Real Estate / Fake Inverno featuring Cardiacs drummer Bob Leith, they're now in studio working at their new recording.
